I must credit Gaby from Paperplanes and Maryjanes (also known as The Levi’s Girl) for coming up with a fitting name for my recently realized fixation with blue suede shoes, deemed the “Elvis Complex”. I unveiled my newest heeled gems last week here, but they’re just one of many blue suede styles I’ve been drawn to lately in my browsing. I’ve fought the urge to purchase these, these, these and these and, well, these too, reminding myself that one does not need multiple styles of shoes in the same material and hue.… Or do they? During a recent re-evaluation of my footwear collection, I realized that I in fact have racked up exactly 5 pairs of blue suede shoes over the years — four pairs of heels and these stunning little (albeit rarely worn) studded flats.
