Dress Up

I have one of those fashion-a-day desk calendars, and yesterday featured a quote from designer Wolfgang Joop that read, “Fashion is about suspense and surprise and fantasy.  It’s not about rules.”  As someone who approaches getting ready for the day with the same enthusiasm as a little girl playing dress up, I couldn’t agree more.  This week alone I’ve channeled the 90s, gone girlie, embraced my bohemian side, went a little edgy, and rounded out the week a bit retro.  So here’s to having fun with fashion this weekend!

    • Thank you! I’d been eyeing up polka dots skirts for awhile now and was lucky enough to find this one on the clearance rack at H&M! Can’t beat a sale on a piece you’ve been craving! :)

  • I HAVE THAT SAME CALENDAR!!! My friend gave it to me for X-mas last year and now it sits on my desk at work.

    Love the shoes!

    • Thanks Leyla! I think a little pop of bold red always adds a playful touch to an outfit! :)

  • Those shoes are a must have! I got the Steve Madden’s that you have, the cream and orange ones, in navy and cream and boy are they dangerous to walk in:)

  • Obviously (by my blog name) I love that idea of looking at your closet as if a girl playing dress up. This outfit is gorgeous and I love the way the prints work together.
