Even though I start embracing the day early into the month, sending out hand signed valentine’s to my girlfriends, treating myself to a bright red box of assorted chocolates, and filling the house with heart shaped balloons, I look forward to keeping February 14th low-key. This year the bf and I decided to avoid the date-night crowds, opting instead for matinee movie and a nice lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. It still felt romantic and indulgent without all the overpriced prefix menus and long ticket lines.
