I spent quite awhile tracking this long sold out skirt in spruce green from American Apparel. Enchanted by that particular color and style I continuously checked back to see if it’s status had changed or it was suddenly available in my local brick and mortar American Apparel store. As luck would have it, during a spontaneous stop in a thrift store a few weeks back, I stumbled upon this nearly identical number. The color, length and pleating are equivalent to that of the American Apparel version, but I can’t help but find this piece to be even better for several reasons: it’s vintage and in flawless condition, it’s velvet, and best of all, it was only $1.99. My belief in frequent, impulsive thrifting outings has only been reinforced.

Yes, $1.99! I could hardly believe it. I’ve honestly been obsessing over the American Apparel version for months and was blown away when I spotted this find!
