Dressing for Dancing

When it comes to the day-to-day, I usually don’t have too* hard of a time picking out my outfits.  When it comes to nights out with my girlfriends on the other hand, it’s a whole other story.  Not the relaxing dinner or casual cocktail evenings, those aren’t the problem, it’s the dancing and drinks evenings that stump me.  Tonight I’m heading to Atlantic City for a bachelorette party, and I haven’t stopped staring into my closet wondering what I’m going to wear; which is how I stumbled onto this outfit.  The ruffled top is actually a dress I’d been trying on as a potential option, and decided it would look great layered with the full orange skirt.  So instead of my evening out outfit, I wound up putting together a Thursday look.  Like I said, I have the day-to-day part down, and even when I’m trying to find an evening out outfit, I wind up with every day attire.

*Every girl has those I-have-nothing-to-wear-I-want-to-rip-my-hair-out-and-scream days.

I LOVE this skirt! And the best part was that someone must have returned it because they don’t usually carry that part of the line in my H&M so they gave it to me for 50% off!

I decided to go with a silky red dress, which ended up being a nice change from all of the girls wearing black, but sequins are most always my go-to for AC. ;)

I have the same exact problem! I like the ruffled dress with the orange skirt – the colors compliment each other nicely. :)

Isn’t it the worst?! I know I have a ton of “going out” things, but when it comes time to actually “go out” none of them seem right. I loved the way the colors in these pieces went together though; the bf told me I looked like “harvest”, whatever that means. haha

These colors are lovely. You put the best things together. I don’t often go dancing so I’d probably find it nearly impossible to figure out what to wear. I think you did a great job.

I loved this post because it seems you have the total OPPOSITE problem as me, haha. When I’m shopping, my eyes are always drawn to fancy/slightly crazy/out-on-the-town items first. Maybe it’s because I live for the weekend? But I’m always running into the problem of creating fun day-to-day looks…which is why I love style blogs like yours! Perhaps if we combined closets we’d never have this problem :)

I love how you have a different hair style almost every day. I could never do that.
